Clubs to know in MLS

Six clubs that have set the modern MLS title race and the recent global attention.

Inter Miami

Miami · The Herons

Lionel Messi era. Most globally followed MLS club since the Argentine arrival. The Supporters Shield and MLS Cup runs have transformed Inter Miami profile.

LAFC

Los Angeles · The Black and Gold

Recent MLS Cup winner. Attacking 4 3 3 identity, BMO Stadium home advantage is one of the strongest in the league.

Seattle Sounders

Seattle · The Rave Green

Two time MLS Cup winner. Lumen Field crowd is the loudest in MLS.

Columbus Crew

Columbus · The Crew

Recent MLS Cup winner. Tactically structured, often involved in tight tactical matches.

Atlanta United

Atlanta · The Five Stripes

Mercedes Benz Stadium hosts some of the largest MLS attendances in the league.

Philadelphia Union

Philadelphia · The Union

Multi time Supporters Shield winner. Defensively structured, often involved in lower scoring matches.

How corners behave in USA football

The corner angle bettors care about. What we read on each match type, and how the model adjusts for USA context.

Higher goal baseline than European mean

MLS averages around 2.8 to 3.0 goals per match across recent seasons, above the European mean and broadly in line with the Bundesliga. Attacking intent on most clubs and lighter defensive structures than European tier ones produce consistent over 2.5 hits.

Travel shapes the MLS slate

MLS spans four time zones and clubs cross the continent all season. A road team late in a long trip tends to sit deeper and cede territory, which pushes corners toward the home side more than a short European away trip does.

Travel matters for second half goals

MLS clubs travel longer distances per match than any top European league (LAFC to Boston is the equivalent of Madrid to Tehran). Visiting sides on long flights reliably index higher on second half goals conceded.

Why MLS is on the rise as a serious betting market

MLS has grown sharply across the last decade. The Designated Player contracts that brought Lionel Messi to Inter Miami, the expansion to 30 clubs across two conferences, and the increased TV revenue have pushed MLS into the same competitive bracket as Liga MX in CONCACAF football. Goal averages run around 2.8 to 3.0 per match, above the Premier League and broadly in line with the Bundesliga.

corneredge.bet prices the full MLS slate. Every fixture carries a corner pick, and where one of our reviewed sportsbooks quotes that line you see the best available price beside it. Every club also carries a corner average built from its own last ten matches, so the read is club specific. Orlando City concede 7.70 corners a match, the most in the league, while Columbus Crew concede 3.20, the fewest. Those two sides need very different lines.

USA football betting questions

Do you cover MLS matches?
Yes. The full MLS slate is priced and the USL Championship is covered too. Each fixture carries a corner pick, and where one of our reviewed sportsbooks quotes that line you also see the best available price.
When does the MLS season run?
MLS regular season runs from late February to mid October. MLS Cup playoffs run through November.
How many goals does a typical MLS match produce?
Around 2.8 to 3.0 goals per match across recent seasons. Above the European mean.
Where can I bet on MLS?
When our connected sportsbooks open MLS markets, Thunderpick, Stake, BC.Game and Sportsbet.io will all carry the slate.
How does MLS differ from Liga MX?
Both are CONCACAF top tiers. MLS plays a calendar year regular season plus playoffs; Liga MX plays a calendar year with Apertura and Clausura phases. Liga MX has historically dominated the CONCACAF Champions Cup, but MLS has narrowed the gap recently.
How accurate is the model on MLS?
The model prices every MLS fixture from per club rolling averages built on the last ten matches, not a flat league number. MLS matches average about 9.7 corners, and the club spread runs from Orlando City at 11.9 down to Columbus Crew at 8.1. The 34 match regular season keeps those samples deep.
